Whew! Leave it to Twitter to bring up old stuff! As many of us are traveling and preparing for Christmas, a few people decided to bring up Dr. Sebi on Twitter, and his widely controversial teachings are now a trending topic.
As you may know, Dr. Sebi was a self-proclaimed herbalist healer who used plant-based diets and alkaline water to allegedly cure diseases. Once setting up treatment centers in Honduras, Dr. Sebi moved his practice to New York and Los Angeles.
On Twitter, many are speaking about his take on HIV and other diseases. Some even stated that the pandemic wouldn’t be here if he were alive today.
While a large majority of the Black community may champion his teachings, just as many do not. One person tweeted, “The damage that Dr. Sebi has done to the black community can’t be reversed.” Another person wrote, “Dr. Sebi sparked black minds all over the planet & influenced them to eat healthier.”
Dr. Sebi, unfortunately, died of Pneumonia in 2016.
