Donald Trump’s younger brother Robert Trump, passed away at age 71 in a New York hospital.
“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight. He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.”
Ivanka Trump took to Twitter to give her condolences on her uncles passing, stating, “Uncle Robert, we love you. You are in our hearts and prayers, always.”
Robert Trump had been admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, however, the details of what he was ill with have yet to be released. According to CNN, Robert was apparently
sick for “several months”, and the
President “appeared saddened by the impending loss of his brother.”
Trump chose to decline disclosing any details regarding his brother’s sickness during a White House press briefing Friday, a day before Robert’s passing.
“I have a wonderful brother. We have a great relationship for a long time, from day one, so long time ago. And he’s in the hospital right now,” he said about Robert.
“Hopefully he’ll be alright, but he’s — he’s pretty — he’s having a hard time.”
Later that Friday, Trump doubled down on the comments he made regarding his brother’s condition, telling reporters that Robert was “having a tough time.”
Robert Trump served as an executive vice president of the Trump Organization. He was one of Donald’s four siblings, may he rest in peace.
