Donald Trump has released a statement in the wake of the passing of his former wife, Ivana Trump. The former President shared on his platform, Truth Social, and wrote,
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City.” He continued, “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”
Ivana was married to Donald Trump from 1977 to 1992 and is the mother of their children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric, according to Variety. The former couple’s marriage had issues once he began having a high-profile affair with Marla Maples, which was all over the tabloids in the 80s. Marla and Donald were married from 1993–1999 and have a daughter together, Tiffany.
Ivana leaves behind a powerful legacy. She had various business ventures, wrote several books, hosted a 2006 reality show called ‘Ivana Young Man,’ and also appeared on the U.K. version of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2010. That’s not it! Ivana also had a memorable cameo in the 1996 movie ‘The First Wives Club,’ which starred Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton.
As people learned of her passing, the clip from the film began to circulate on Twitter. One user mentioned her $14 million settlement payment after her split from Trump.
The tweet read, “Ivana, who’s died at 73, was the only Trump who seemed to work for a living, which was why Donald left her. And when she only got $14 million in the divorce, NYC was outraged on her behalf, leading to her cameo in ‘First Wives Club,’ where she said, “Don’t get mad. Get everything”
Our thoughts are with the Trump family at this time.
