It has been a long time coming, but it looks like production for an all-new season of the FX hit series “Atlanta” is FINALLY starting to take place.
On Friday, Donald Glover shared a photo of him LaKeith Stanfield, Brian Tyree Henry, and Zazie Beetz. He captioned the photo, “‘Day 0’ S3 ATL.”
Shortly after he shared his photo, LaKeith Stanfield shared a photo of his dressing room door with his character’s name on the show, which is Darius.
The show’s second season ended in 2018, and in 2019 it was reported that the third season would be delayed. At the time John Landgraf, the chief at FX, announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the series was behind schedule.
Fast-Forward to 2021, and it looks like things are starting to fall into place once again.
Last week, Deadline reported that the cast was heading to Europe to start shooting season three and season four of the hit series, with production expected to start on April 5th.
Landgraf mentioned that the writing for the show was completed last summer, with season three expected to air in January 2021, and season four following up during the fall. However, COVID, unfortunately, pushed their timeline back further.
Nonetheless, it looks like we’ll be getting some new episodes of “Atlanta,” pretty soon.
