Whew! We have to watch the baby fever amid all this recent celebrity baby news. Looks like we owe another congratulations to Donald Glover who secretly welcomed a third child with his longtime partner Michelle White during the pandemic.
Donald, aka Childish Gambino, revealed the baby news in an interview with HBO star Michaela Coel for GQ. He said he and Michelle welcomed a baby boy.
“It was nuts,” Glover said of the experience. “My son had just been born, like, an hour before and I was watching the George Floyd video. It was such a weird moment.”
Donald went a little bit more in depth about his experience having a child during the current social justice movement. “It was such an intense, weird moment, because I’m watching that video and it’s like eight minutes long, so you’re sitting there and I had just had this amazing, joyful, expanding moment…”
Donald continued, “I don’t even know what, really, the word is to describe it,” the comedian told Coel. “It was just expanding: the empathy and compassion and the terror and the joy of it.”
Donald shared that he and Michelle named their third son after his father, who passed away in 2018.
This makes three boys for the couple. Donald had his first son, Legend, in October 2016. He announced that Michelle was pregnant with their second son, Drake, during the 2017 Emmys, while accepting his award for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for FX’s “Atlanta.”
There’s been a lot of baby news this week, most notably Nicki Minaj giving birth to her first child with husband Kenneth Petty and Usher welcoming a daughter with his girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea.
Kevin Hart also welcomed a baby girl with his wife Eniko Hart.
We’ll keep you posted on the latest.
