Donald Trump Speaks On His Conviction

Donnie shared his thoughts on his recent conviction in an exclusive interview with co-hosts Pete Hegseth, Will Cain and Rachel Campos-Duffy, which aired on Sunday, June 2. He told reporters the trial could have started years ago, but he believes the jury wants to expedite it before the 2024 presidential election.

“There has never been a case where a state has gone after a federal election. Southern district turned it down, we got clearance from the FEC, the Federal Election Commission, clearance! They’re suing saying we violated the thing, but they gave us clearance. But the charge was written and I mean it was a weird charge,” Trump said.

While speaking on the hush money trial, Trump also stated that he’s not afraid of jail time or house arrest.

“I’m OK with it. I saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying, ‘Oh no, you don’t want to do that to the president.’ I said, you don’t beg for anything. I don’t think the public would stand it. I’m not sure the public would stand for it. I think it would be tough for the public to take, you know, at a certain point, there’s a breaking point,” Trump said.

As he awaits sentencing, Trump is maintaining his stance that he committed no wrongdoing. According to CNN, he also referenced his wife, the former first lady, Melania Trump and her thoughts on the impeding trial.

“I’m fighting for the Constitution. She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her. I mean, she’s fine. But it’s you know, she has to read all this crap,” Donald stated.

Further Details On Donnie’s Hush Money Trial

Donald Trump was found guilty of all charges against him on Thursday (May 30).

Along with the hush money trial, Trump also faces three other legal battles. These include a federal election interference case in Washington, D.C., a state election interference case in Georgia, and a federal case alleging mishandling of classified documents and national security information.

Now that the trial has concluded, Judge Merchan scheduled Trump’s sentencing for July 11. The date arrives days before the Republican party’s official nomination for the 2024 presidential election.

Trump didn’t hesitate to comment on his indictment after the proceedings. He claimed his innocence and told reporters he believed the trial was “rigged.”

“This was a disgrace — this was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt. This is a rigged trial, a disgrace. They wouldn’t give us a venue change, we are at five percent or six percent in this district, in this area. This is a rigged, disgraceful trial. The real verdict is going to be November 5 by the people, and they know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here…We didn’t do a thing wrong, I’m a very innocent man. And it’s okay. I’m fighting for our country, I’m fighting for our constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt a political opponent and I think it’s just a disgrace.”
