Here’s What Donald Trump Said About A “Bloodbath”
According to NPR, Trump attended a rally in support of Senate candidate Bernie Moreno on Saturday, March 16. Additionally, the rally was held in Ohio.
While speaking on his plans to raise tariffs on foreign-made cars, the former president included a surprising comment.
“We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected,” Trump explained, per CNN. “Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it. But they’re not gonna sell those cars…”
In response, James Singer, a spokesperson for President Biden’s campaign, released a statement reacting to Trump’s words, per CNN.
“This is who Donald Trump is: a loser who gets beat by over 7 million votes and then instead of appealing to a wider mainstream audience doubles down on his threats of political violence,” Singer stated.
Steven Cheung, a Trump campaign spokesperson, explained that the former President was only talking about “the impact of a second Biden term on the auto industry,” per NPR.
“Crooked Joe Biden and his campaign are engaging in deceptively, out-of-context editing,” Cheung reportedly stated, per NPR.
Social Media Reacts Along With This Politician
Social media users reacted to the 77-year-old’s statements in The Shade Room’s comment section.
“We just have to win this election because he’s even predicting a bloodbath. What does that mean? He’s going to exact a bloodbath? There’s something wrong here… how much more do [American voters] have to see to understand that this isn’t what our country is about?… There’s something wrong here…”
Here’s What Else Trump Said
According to NPR, Trump also accused Biden of posing a threat to Social Security in his speech on Saturday. To note, Biden previously defended Social Security, Medicare, and other programs in his recent State of the Union address, per The Shade Room.
“You will not be able to have Social Security with this guy in office because he’s destroying the economics of our country. And that includes Medicare, by the way, and American seniors are going to be in big trouble,” Trump said. “I made a promise that I will always keep Social Security, Medicare. We always will keep it. We never will cut it.”

The outlet adds that Saturday’s rally “was anything but focused on Bernie Moreno.”
According to CNN, Trump’s remaining comments during the rally focused on “bashing” Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, spewing continued allegations that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, and repeating “his promise” to free those charged with crimes related to the January 6, 2021 insurrection.
