On Tuesday, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo revealed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus and that he had experienced a fever, chills, and shortness of breath. Nonetheless, he felt fine and announced that he would still host his show, but from the basement of his home.
Tuesday evening, during his broadcast, Don Lemon and CNN senior global affairs analyst Bianna Golodryga talked about how the pandemic would impact renters and homeowners. And during their discussion, Don couldn’t help but get a little emotional while thinking of his co-worker and friend Chris.
Don said, “Sorry, I said I wasn’t going to do this. Jesus! He’s probably at home laughing at me.”
He continued, “Chris and I are really good friends we live near each other, and so when I walk into work every day I have to walk by where Chris is. So I usually go to his office, sometimes I bring the dogs and we just say hello.”
Prior to his discussion with Bianna Golodryga, Don spoke with Chris and they shared a few laughs about his situation. Don jokingly asked where was Chris’ suit, and Chris responded, “I’m too sick. “Cristina said it didn’t look right for me to be sick in a funereal suit. It’s too much like what I might be buried in.”
Don then asked if his wife Christina came down to the basement to do some decorating and help him dress, Chris responded, “Nope. Nobody will come anywhere near me. Those stairs are a no-go zone. Even the dogs don’t come.”
As we previously reported, on Tuesday, Chris said, “In these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus. I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fevers, chills, and shortness of breath. I just hope I didn’t give it to the kids and Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness.”
