The Jackson brothers continue to have all eyes on them, and it doesn’t seem like the attention will die down anytime soon. Currently, Sarunas Jackson is involved in his own legal battle with the mother of his daughter, actress DomiNque Perry.
In September, Sarunas filed a petition to determine the parental relationship of their five-year-old daughter Zen, per Essence. He reportedly asked that the court award him joint legal and physical custody.
However, DomiNque isn’t letting up without a fight. The Texas native asked that Sarunas’ petition be denied. According to Radar Online, she claims their relationship has been on the rocks since Zen’s birth. Despite Sarunas allegedly displaying “emotional volatility and intimidation,” DomiNque says she has attempted to foster “a positive co-parenting relationship” for Zen’s “best interest.”
DomiNque also clapped back by asking for a case dismissal in California.
In court documents obtained by The Shade Room, filed in Texas, DomiNque petitioned the court to order Sarunas Jackson to pay child support, including medical and dental, as specified by the court.
She also asks the court to have the child’s father cover all attorney fees, expenses, and costs through trial.
The Shade Room contacted a source close to DomiNque’s team, and they were able to share some insight about the custody battle between the actors.
“In the duration of Zen’s five years, Sarunas has inconsistently assisted. Most of the time, DomiNque repeatedly asked for all financial assistance, causing her to feel like she was begging,” a source shared with TSR.
The source added, “There hasn’t been ANY assistance given for Zen since August 2023 when he abruptly stopped with no indication. Shortly after that, he filed a petition.”
The source explained that DomiNque suggested a temporary move to Houston to give their daughter stability and a stable educational plan because Zen is on the autism spectrum. Although she is high functioning, it was one of the main reasons DomiNque wanted to return to Houston. Another reason is the economic difference in states.
The mother also wishes for Zen to be surrounded by “love and support,” which the source says is non-existent in Los Angeles.
The source made it clear the actress is more concerned about her daughter’s mental state and welfare than money.
“Sadly, mid-October was the last time Sarunas reached out to be with Zen, to take his yearly Halloween Instagram photos to post. Since October, Sarunas has not contacted DomiNque to FaceTime or contacted anyone in her family to check on Zen,” said the source.
In addition, the source claims the “Games People Play” star has not inquired about his daughter’s education since he filed his petition in September. The parents had previously agreed to visit schools in Los Angeles and Texas.
“DomiNque visited his choice in Los Angeles, but surprisingly, as agreed, instead of him visiting the school of choice in Texas, she was improperly served with an emergency restraining order stating that she was abducting their daughter and requiring her not to leave the state of California with a minor child,” the source said.
Before ending the conversation, the source also commented on the ongoing headlines about Sarunas’ younger brother, Darius Daulton Jackson, and Keke Palmer.
Keke accused Darius Jackson of domestic violence in filings for custody of their infant son Leo and a restraining order. A judge granted Palmer full custody and a temporary restraining order against Daulton last week Thursday. They will return to court in December.
As for Sarunas Jackson, amid the filings, he shared and later deleted a post on X defending his brother. After Keke’s mother reacted to the post, the actor denied ever being abusive to a woman he’s involved with. Our source alleges that’s not the full truth.
“The statement that Sarunas made about him NEVER abusing a woman he’s been involved with is false! DomiNque has been mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually abused,” said the source.
The source added:
“[DomiNque] was bullied, manipulated, and intimidated by [Sarunas Jackson] and certain members of his family for five years plus.”
Although the legal drama is ongoing, the source was happy to share that DomiNque and Zen are in Texas and that her priority is to provide her daughter with stability.
