Doja Cat Wins VMA For Push Best New Artist–Full List Of Winners & Nominees

MTV’s 2020 Video Music Awards have wrapped and now we know what a live awards show looks like in quarantine. It all went down on Sunday night at the Barclay’s Center where Doja Cat, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd and others took home a cherished moon man.

Doja Cat trended on Twitter, not just for serving looks but for giving a performance of “Say So” that quite a few people felt was the best performance of the night.

Doja followed up that performance by snagging the VMA for Push Best New Artist, beating out fellow newcomers such as Roddy Ricch and Jack Harlow. Check out her speech below:

This is quite a comeback for Doja, who faced a lot of backlash earlier this year following allegations that she engaged in racist and anti-Black behavior in chat rooms. She has since addressed those allegations.

Lady Gaga also had a moment Sunday night. In addition to sweeping awards with Ariana Grande for their collaboration “Rain On Me,” which they also performed, she also took home the award for Best Artist and the MTV Tricon Award.

The Weeknd took home the most coveted award of the show: Video of the Year for his visual of his song “Blinding Lights.”
