Doja Cat announced that she would be taking a break from TikTok indefinitely after receiving backlash over point of view (POV) videos she created on her account. Last night she shared three funny POV videos of Tyga, Sylvester Stallone, and Connor McGregor. However, it didn’t sit well with her fans. Her fans started asking Doja if something was wrong in her comments, in which she responded, “No baby, thanks for asking! Are you okay?”
Today, she announced her exit from the popular app on Twitter. Doja tweeted, “I’m not comfortable making Tik Toks anymore. I feel like something is wrong with me. Y’all got me :/.” A fan tweeted her, “I’m sorry that there are people in the world who think spreading hate and leaving rude comments on your posts is ok. I’m sorry that you even gotta see that. It’s messed up, but we love you.”
Doja responded, “They’re not even hateful. They’re just unintentionally gaslighting, and I’m deada*s not fit to take the joke cause I’ve actually struggled with s**t before, and I have a lot of fear in me. So it just adds up in the end when I read that kind of s**t.”
Another fan tweeted her, “Please, people only comment ‘Are you okay Doja’ for likes, I promise.” She quickly responded, “I get that, but it’s fu**ing depressing to accept that s**t.” Doja continued tweeting, “It’s really my dumba*s fault cause I put myself out there to be made fun of anyway, but it’s just reached a point for me personally, so I’m done with the funny s**t. Y’all can make fun of my music, and my performances cause those are not meant to be a joke, and I’ll feel better about that.”
Doja ended by thanking her fans for showing so much love. Now it’s unclear if Doja is trolling or not, but celebrities do have feelings, too, and we hope Doja is okay!
