Roomies, it is with unfortunate sorrow that we have to report that Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons has passed away at the age of 50, according to XXL. Passing away at the White Plains Hospital, many have offered their condolences.
Releasing a statement to XXL, his family confirmed the news. The statement reads, “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days.”
The statement continues, “Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live forever.”
In closing, “We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle, and the man the word knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.”
This comes after the doctors ran tests and showed no further brain activity after suffering a heart attack.
According to TMZ, sources revealed that the tests performed on Wednesday showed no improvement in brain activity. It has been almost a week since he was rushed to the hospital after suffering from an apparent overdose. As mentioned before, he had little brain function after being deprived of oxygen for nearly half an hour.
