DJ Mustard is still at war with his estranged wife, Chanel Thierry. But this time, it’s about their son, whom Mustard requests sole legal custody of.
In court documents obtained by Radar Online, the 33-year-old reportedly filed the motion for only his eldest child with Chanel, with whom he shares three kids.
DJ Mustard Worries About His Son’s Education
The filing comes after Mustard says he became increasingly concerned about their son’s education at the school he currently attends.
He contends that Chanel was the one who opted for their son to attend a public school despite its low rating.
The low grades that his son had been receiving backed up his argument, sparking Mustard to seek professional advice.
Court docs reveal that he was advised to get his son’s grades up to par in order to move him to a private school.
But Chanel has allegedly not been cooperating with this decision, having “refused to” even consider Mustard’s plan.
Her attitude towards her estranged husband’s intentions was described as “defensive.”
Chanel’s refusal to contemplate Mustard’s advice supposedly indicates that she’s treating the custody battle as a competition that, according to Mustard, she is determined to win at any cost.
The ‘Pure Water’ producer thinks that to help his son’s necessary educational needs, he must take over sole custodial responsibilities.
Chanel, per the docs, has “treated” the situation “like a contest that she must win at all costs, even if that cost is irreparable educational harm.”
He believes that his ex’s refusal to co-parent on what he deems a serious problem might cause further educational damage to their child if nothing is done about it.
This legal issue is not the first time the former couple has gone at it in court.
Chanel Accused Mustard Of Keeping The Kids From Her
In December, Chanel accused Mustard of denying her the chance to see their three children during the holiday season.
Using the social media app Threads to sound off on her ex, Chanel labeled Mustard as bitter and controlling.
“Imagine not allowing a mother to see her kids on Christmas for the second year in the row is NASTY WORK,” she wrote. “Especially after they already expected to see her. Some of these men are more bitter then they appear.”
“Feeding Radar Online lies to spread about me to ruin my [image] and clean your image is a joke. I’ve taken it quietly for the last year. I’m not playing no more. I will RUN ALL THE TEA,” she said at the time.
Amid their intense custody battle, however, the financial aspect has definitely not been overlooked.
Initially, it was reported that Chanel demanded $80k per month in child support for their three kids.
However, the couple has since agreed to monthly support payments of $24k.
Chanel has yet to respond to Mustard’s request for sole custody of their eldest son.
