DJ Khaled revealed he and his wife, Nicole Tuck, are trying to have a baby girl after having two boys; he recently told Page Six.
“I can’t even lie to you,” Khaled said at the Shawn Carter Foundation gala in New York on Friday (Jul. 14). “We have been praying and trying for a girl.”
The 47-year-old and Tuck had previously welcomed Asahd, 6, in 2016 and Aalam, 3, in 2020, as previously reported by The Shade Room.
The news doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, however. The rapper/producer has yearned for a daughter for years now.
In April 2021, he told PEOPLE that he was “ready to go at it” in terms of having another child. He added he “would love” to give his two sons a little sister.
“I’m ready. I’m ready to go at it,” Khaled exclaimed. “Whatever God blesses us with, we’d be grateful. I would love for us to have another beautiful blessing, and [my] two boys could have a sister… It’s all in God’s hands and, at the end of the day, we are grateful and we enjoying this. Family is everything.”
Khaled and his wife, Nicole, have been together for over a decade, The Shade Room reported. They got married in 2016.
DJ Khaled is worth over $75 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. However, he tells Page Six that he still instills a strong work ethic in his boys.
“The kids hang out with mommy and daddy every day and they see us work every day, so that’s how you teach your kids how to hustle,” he went on to say at last week’s event.
“You bring them around greatness and you bring them around love. I let Asahd and Aalam know everyday that if they want sneakers I tell them daddy gotta work hard to continue to buy boxes and boxes.”
Meanwhile, DJ Khaled added that his kids “are going to be (financially) good forever. Mommy and daddy will make sure of that.”
“My kids are going to be good forever because mommy and daddy will make sure of that,” he told Page Six, “That is what all mothers and fathers strive to do. But we also want them to be able to grow up and do whatever they want to do. Take the blessing to continue the legacy and take it to wherever they want to do cause we do everything for our kids.”
