Diddy isn’t letting his recent legal drama get in the way of paying tribute to the late Kim Porter on her birthday. Porter died from pneumonia on Nov. 15, 2018.
The Bad Boy Records founder took to social media on Friday (Dec. 15) and penned a sweet caption to a throwback photo of him and the mother of three of his children, which shows him planting a kiss on her cheek.
“We miss you so much Kim! Happy Birthday Beautiful! Love forever,” Diddy wrote, along with a black heart emoji.
The music mogul’s post came shortly after their son, Christian Combs, and twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila, hopped on their respective social media platforms to remember their mother.
Christian shared two separate posts on his Instagram story. The first shows Kim seemingly reacting to a birthday card from her son as the rapper gleefully smiles. The caption reads, “Happy heavenly birthday, mommy.”
Additionally, the second post was a photo of Kim holding onto her son as a baby, which Christian had turned into his iPhone lock screen display.
Elsewhere, the twins wrote a sentimental message to honor their mom’s birthday with a throwback photo of them with mommy on vacation.
“Happy heavenly birthday Queen,” they wrote. “We love you so muchhhhhhh. Everything we do is for you. We miss you sooooo much and we are always thinking about you.”
According to PEOPLE, Diddy and Porter dated throughout the ’90s and shared an on-off relationship in the ’00s before calling it quits for good in 2007.
In September, Diddy revealed how Kim has recently greatly influenced his music. He told Entertainment Tonight the passing of his ex in 2018 had still been a struggle for him. His ongoing grief reportedly inspired him to create an album dedicated to love.
His latest album, ‘The Love Album,’ was deemed a tribute to Porter and their shared experiences throughout their decades-long relationship. The sudden loss of Porter seemingly deeply affected the ‘Come To Me’ rapper. In response, he channeled his emotions and turned them into art.
“I always said that I can’t make a hit record unless my heart is broken. It’s just like a vulnerable state that you’re in,” he said. “When I lost Kim, it broke my heart forever.”
Just last week, Diddy defended himself on social media. This comes weeks after denying accusations of sexual assault stemming from four lawsuits. His ex-girlfriend, Cassie, was the first to accuse Diddy of rape, abuse, and trafficking. Within 24 hours, they settled the suit for an undisclosed amount.
Then, three other women stepped forward with similar accusations. In one of the most recent suits, an anonymous woman says the mogul participated in gang-raping her when she was 17.
In response, Diddy shared a public statement on his Instagram, denying the accusations and expressing his frustration at the situation. He believes the alleged victims are seeking nothing more than “a quick payday.”
“For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he wrote. “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. “Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”
