Joe Budden is taking no prisoners this week! Yesterday, the rapper had a quick run-in with fellow rapper Meek Mill via Twitter, but then he had to take it a step further and come for Drake real quick too! Today, Budden released his ‘Making A Murderer (Part 1)’ diss record and the shade is that the song features a clip of a JoeBuddenTv interview Drake did back in 2009!
Ironically, Drake talks about how he wants to stay away from the beef culture in rap during that interview, meanwhile he is beefing with Meek Mill right now (depending on how you look at it).
Some of the lyrics to #MAMP1 read: “All of this just because I wasn’t in love with his Views” and ” He wanna sing? Well let’s get into the show, hence my role /For Jodeci, Boyz II Men, we at the end of the road.”
Even though these words appear to spell bad blood, Budden insists that he only wants to show these young rappers what “competitive hip-hop is really about.”
Budden tells Pitchfork:
“My plan isn’t about Meek; it ain’t about Drake, but I wanna rap. I’m at a point in my life where I wanna rap. Time is measured by the second and I come from competitive hip-hop. That’s the MC I am. That’s the MC I always will be. The MC in me is not about to recondition to today’s world. I gotta be who I am at all times. I wanna rap.”
Roommates, can check out the song for yourself and tell us what you think! Is Joe Budden’s record true to hip hop?
