Desiigner Speaks About Plane Incident

In a recent interview on the ‘No Jumper’ podcast, Desiigner discussed the events that prompted him to expose himself on an international flight.

As The Shade Room previously reported, the ‘Panda’ rapper faced charges of indecent exposure for allegedly masturbating on a 2023 flight. The actual event took place in April.

While speaking with Adam22, the Brooklyn-bred musician mentioned that he wasn’t in the right place at that time.

“Mentally, Adam, I wasn’t in the right place. I had a long time to think about this. Literally, mentally, I wasn’t in the right place. I was just, like, having so much fun, not controlling myself at the time. And just kept it going,” Desiigner said.

Desiigner said he was “fully tweaked out of his mind,” attributing his actions to his diet and medication.

“I didn’t know what I was doing. I was fully tweaked out my mind. This was when I was vegan, and I didn’t have enough sugars. And stuff like that. I was kind like out of my body. It was an OBE experience. It really wasn’t who my character was. I was on medication,” Desiigner continued.

Here’s What Happened With Desiigner

Following the plane incident in 2023, Desiigner released a statement addressing his mental health and explained that he was “ashamed of his actions.” He also revealed that he was “given meds” and was planning to admit himself into a facility.

“I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the States and am admitting myself in a facility to help me. I will be canceling all of my shows and any obligations until further notice. Mental health is real, guys, please pray for me. If you’re not feeling like yourself, please get help.”

Per TSR, the ‘Champions’ artist had just finished performing overseas and was returning to the United States.

TMZ reported that Desiigner exposed himself and engaged in inappropriate behavior aboard a first-class Delta aircraft.

The outlet also noted that he did not appear impaired during his police interview. However, authorities still charged him with indecent exposure.

According to TSR, Desiigner’s lawyer, Ryan Garry, stated he’d register as a sex offender only if he is required by California or another government entity.

“The parties in this case have come to the legal conclusion, after significant research and consultation with lawyers in California, that this misdemeanor conviction is not one that will cause Mr. Selby to have to register as a sex offender. If some government agency in California disagrees with our analysis, then we will address the matter at that point in time,” Garry explained.
