Roommates, the nominations for the 53rd annual NAACP Image Awards were just announced and some of the biggest names in entertainment received recognition for their work that highlighted #BlackExcellence throughout the past year!
Among the NAACP Image Awards nominees include, Denzel Washington, Jennifer Hudson, ‘Insecure,’ H.E.R., LaLa Anthony, Drake, Will Smith, Angela Bassett, Daniel Kaluuya, ‘The Harder They Fall’ and more. Meanwhile, the final season of ‘Insecure,’ Grammy-winning artist H.E.R. and the critically-acclaimed Netflix film ‘The Harder They Fall’ all lead with the most nominations.
Netflix leads all platforms with multiple nominations across both motion picture and television categories. The Regina King-starring film ‘The Harder They Fall’ and HBO’s ‘Insecure’ are tied for the most nominations with 12 each. Additionally, H.E.R. is the most-nominated musical artist racking up six nominations.
Rounding up the nominations is the event’s biggest award for Entertainer Of The Year, which will see Jennifer Hudson, Regina King, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion and Tiffany Haddish all face off against each other.
The winners will be announced on February 26th by seven-time NAACP Image Award winner Anthony Anderson. The coverage begins with a two-hour live TV special at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on BET. Once again, due to COVID-19, the awards show will be held without an in-person audience.
