Demi Lovato recently took a DNA test and learned of her heritage. “I did a DNA test and found out I’m mainly Spanish, with Native American, Scandinavian (which I had NO idea), Irish, British,” Lovato tweeted. She followed up a tweet which confirmed that she had some African ancestry. “And I’m 1% African!!!!” she rejoiced!
She was excited to finally discover her roots, but it wasn’t long before trolls tried to rain on her parade by saying that she was being “problematic.” Lovato responded by saying that she thought tweeting the DNA results were “cool and totally random” and added that people on Twitter are “mean af.” Later, the Cool For The Summer songstress clarifies that she “didn’t mean to offend anyone” with her tweets. Why is it a problem for anyone to be proud to be black? It’s only 1% and people want to lose their minds!
Anyway, Roommates, do you think that Demi was creating problems or do you think that she was embracing her heritage?
