UPDATE: Lil Meech is now out of custody, and he followed through with his travel plans by hopping on a private jet.
Here’s the initial story:
Demetrius Flenory Jr., a star on Black Mafia Family (BMF) who also goes by “Lil Meech,” has landed himself in trouble once again.
According to TMZ, authorities detained Meech at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Tuesday after they allegedly found a gun in his luggage.
The outlet reports that authorities specifically found a Glock 19 in his carry-on bag, which was accompanied by a 15-round magazine. He also reportedly didn’t have a carry permit.
Officers with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office were ultimately called to the scene, and they took Meech into custody.
Once news of Meech’s latest run-in with the law began circulating, 50 Cent—one of BMF‘s executive producers—addressed it on social media.
He uploaded a screenshot of TMZ‘s article and joked that Meech may have been a little too in character.
“What the f**k! LIL Meech didn’t hear them say cut.”
Ever the businessman, 50 Cent also took the opportunity to promote the series, as its second season will begin airing on Starz in early 2023. So, as fans digest the news, they can also begin to gear up for the return of “Black Mafia Fridays.”
This ordeal comes about nine months after Meech ran into another legal situation in South Florida.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Lil Meech was arrested back in March for allegedly stealing $250,000 Richard Mille watch. He was slapped with two counts of first-degree grand theft over the matter, as well as one count of organized fraud.
However, he swiftly bonded himself out of Miami-Dade County Jail and went about his normal routine, which included filming the upcoming season of BMF.
What do you think about Lil Meech’s legal issues, and do you think he’ll continue running into trouble in 2023?
