DC Young Fly took to Instagram on May 31 to reflect on the one-year anniversary of Jacky Oh‘s passing. The comedian wrote a heartfelt message to his long-time partner and mother of his children.
As previously reported by The Shade Room, the 32-year-old passed away following complications from a “mommy makeover” cosmetic surgery.

Social Media Reacts To DC Young Fly’s Post
Roomies under The Shade Room’s report showed DC — born John Whitfield— much love and support.
@tifah said, “Time goes by fast, but stands still for those grieving. May God continue to keep and bless you on this journey.”
“That one year mark be something else. Like reopening a wound,” @tee_dimps1598 stated.
One Roomie shared that they recently lost a significant other. @carpe_diem_theawakening wrote, “People just don’t understand. Loss my first love last weekend, Just left his homegoing service earlier today, My soul is crushed, Leaning on the Lord in Jesus name amen. God bless you and your babies.”
Some Roomies weren’t so kind.
“Man should’ve told her she was beautiful naturally and not encourage all that cosmetic poison which leaded to her demise smh,” @bams_shenanigans said.
Others defended the ’85 South Show’ co-host.
@oh_danger said, “Sick of people talking about what surgery she didn’t need. Like okay…. you ain’t need that burger with extra cheese now did you big back Bartholomew?”
@romaarmyyyyy co-signed, “Someone said ‘pay yall respects without the 2 cents’ and I felt that for him.”
DC reportedly met Jacky in 2015 on the set of ‘Wild ‘N Out.’ They share two daughters, Nova and Nala and a son, Prince, who was born in 2022, the year before Jackie passed.
Rest in power, Ms. Jacky Oh.
