Last year it was announced that Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper landed the starring roles in the third remake of the 1937 film, “A Star Is Born.”
Now another big name has been added to the cast.
According to Deadline, Dave Chappelle, will star alongside Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, who will also serve as the director.
Chapelle will play “an old friend of Jackson Maine (Cooper), the country music star who is on the brink of decline when he discovers a talented unknown named Ally (Gaga). When her career eclipse’s Jackson’s own, he finds it increasingly hard to handle his fading glory.”
Filming reportedly started at Coachella, and production is now underway, with a release date scheduled for September 28th 2018.
Last year Chappelle signed a deal with Netflix to release three of his stand-up comedy specials, for a total of $60 million, with each special being worth $20 million.
