Tonight is the premiere of part two of Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly” series and a preview featuring Dame Dash, shows him talking about R. Kelly’s marriage t Aaliyah.
In the clip obtained by TMZ, Dame is seen talking about Aaliyah wanting R, Kelly to be kept away from her after she was finally away from him. Dame also described Aaliyah as the “sacrificial lamb,” to actions R. Kelly has been accused of throughout the years.
He said, “Aaliyah was like the sacrificial lamb for all that, bro because she didn’t deserve none of that. Good soul, good girl, and wasn’t even really so resentful—like, ‘Let that man live but keep him the fuck away from me.’ That’s all she wanted, she was just happy to be away.”
Dame continued, “I know the whole story, I know it was the cover-up and all of that, but how does that cover it up? It just made the conversation less crazy, like oh he married a child.”
As many of you know, Dame and Aaliyah were in a relationship at the time when she passed away back in 2001 at the age of 22.
As we previously reported, part two of the docuseries will feature interviews from different people and their perspective on the accusations against R. Kelly, and the effects of part one of the docuseries, which aired earlier this year.
