Three-and-a-half months following his mid-game collapse, Buffalo Bills athlete Damar Hamlin has officially been cleared to play football again!
The news came from Brandon Beane, the team’s general manager (GM), on Tuesday.
During a press conference, Beane announced that Hamlin had seen three specialists, who all agreed that the athlete could return to the football field.
“He’s seen three additional specialists, most recently on Friday. They’re all in agreement — it’s not two-to-one or three-to-one or anything like that. They’re all in lockstep [with] what this was. He is cleared [to] resume full activity… He’s fully cleared, he’s here, and he is of the mindset.”
The Buffalo Bills GM wrapped by proclaiming, “He’s in a great headspace to come back and make his return.”
As for Damar Hamlin, the 25-year-old noted that he’s “planning on making a comeback.” He also remarked that while the experience has been “life-changing,” it’s certainly “not the end of [his] story.”
“Over these last few months, I’ve been on a journey, and I’ve seen some of the top professionals across the country… This event was life-changing, but it’s not the end of my story. So, I’m here to announce that I’m planning on making a comeback to the NFL.”
Shortly thereafter, the Buffalo Bills shared another video that showed Hamlin gettin’ back into action. IKTR!
As The Shade Room previously reported, Hamlin first spoke out about the incident in question — which consisted of him going into cardiac arrest during a football game — back in late January.
After saying how much he appreciated the support, Hamlin said the experience was “a direct example of God using [him] as a vessel,
Later, at the annual NFL Honors ceremony, Damar expressed similar sentiments by remarking that — while going into cardiac arrest was unexpected — God has His own plan. Additionally, the athlete knows it has “a purpose greater than any game in this world.”
Hamlin also stated.
“Thank you to everyone around the world who prayed for me and hoped for me. The journey will continue.”
We wish Damar Hamlin the best as he prepares to return to his football grind!
