Be careful what you say #Roommates because it could cost you everything, literally though! A Dairy Queen restaurant in Zion, Illinois was shut down Friday after a young black mom was called out of her name by the store owner.
According to Yahoo, Deianeira Ford, 21, said it all went down Wednesday after she asked the owner for a refund because there was a problem with her order. James Crichton, the store owner, called her the N- word, and immediately after that her daughter asked her what that word meant.
The young lady asked him what his name was, he first said “Bill Clinton” and then tried to be funny and said, ‘Better yet, I’m Donald Trump,’ and told her to go back where she came from,”
Dairy Queen spokesman Dean Peters told News-Sun that executives agreed on Friday to close that franchise ASAP!
“The recent actions of this franchisee are inexcusable, reprehensible, unacceptable and do not represent the values of the Dairy Queen family, our employees, fans and other independent franchises around the world,” a statement by the company said. “We expect our franchisees and their employees to treat every single person who walks through their doors with the utmost dignity and respect. Nothing less is acceptable.”
The store owner has since apologized for his actions, but its a little too late now.
“I take full responsibility of my actions,” Crichton reportedly said in a statement released by the Dairy Queen spokesman. “As the owner of this restaurant, I should be a model for others. My actions were inexcusable and unacceptable.”
