Roommates, although it seems like the previous season just ended, filming is already underway for the upcoming 13th season of the hit Bravo reality series, “Real Housewives of Atlanta”—however, all anyone is concerned about is if series star and last original cast member, NeNe Leakes, will be returning. Cynthia Bailey spoke about NeNe’s status on the show in a recent interview and if you were hoping she had answers to give…think again.
It’s no secret that NeNe Leakes has been very undecided regarding her future on the show she helped build, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” After a few very rough few seasons, where she was in the middle of multiple attacks from cast members, behind-the-scenes issues with producers and overall unhappiness with her contract—rumors have been swirling that the Queen of Atlanta may be done with the show for good.
During a recent interview with E!, “RHOA” cast member Cynthia Bailey was asked about NeNe in regards to her place on the show for the upcoming season and she is apparently just as in the dark as everyone else.
Cynthia had this to say on if NeNe will hold a center peach on the show’s 13th season:
“First and foremost, I don’t really have any real answers for you to be honest. All I know is what I read and see on the blogs, too. So I can just tell you I haven’t filmed anything with her or seen her. That’s that. In terms of contract negotiations, it’s not unusual for people to still be negotiating their contract. We’ve been over here filming for about two months now but I’m just saying. It’s not super unusual.”
She continued, adding:
“However, at the end of the day and I mean this, NeNe and I are where we are now, but for a long time she was a very, very good friend of mine who I loved very much and who I still have love for. I want her to do what is best for her. She was one of the OGs on the show. When you think of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” you do think of NeNe. She’s great for the show. I hope they work it out, but that’s between her and the network.”
Meanwhile, NeNe has recently deleted her Instagram account, but her Twitter account still remains, leaving fans more puzzled than ever as to what exactly is going on with the reality superstar.
