#Roommates, although they have officially been divorced for a few years now, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Cynthia Bailey and ex-husband Peter Thomas have maintained a surprising friendship—but that apparently doesn’t mean that money shouldn’t be paid back when it’s owed. Cynthia loaned Peter $170,000 for his currently foreclosed nightclub Bar One and now she is reportedly taking him to court to get her money back.
According to @MadameNoire, when the initial version of Bar One was foreclosed on in Atlanta back in 2017, Peter Thomas went to Cynthia Bailey, who loaned him $170,000 to start over with a new and improved nightclub of the same name—and also serve as a sister space to a lounge he also owns in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, things definitely didn’t turn out as planned, as the potential new property is also now in foreclosure.
Recent court documents reveal that Cynthia filed a lawsuit against Peter in an effort to collect the $170,000 she says she contributed to the building. Since Cynthia’s name is on the deed of the building, and the building is now in foreclosure, she wants her money back. The court documents also state that Peter is not scheduled to begin paying any money until next month.
In a previous interview, Cynthia explained the rocky status of Peter’s nightclub:
“[Regarding Peter] we actually have unfinished business. I’m his partner at Bar One Atlanta. We’re building it out now. This was a project that we started while we were together, and we kind of put it on hold while we were kind of not liking each other so much.”
If you’re a “RHOA” fan, then you may recall that the first version of Bar One was adjacent to Cynthia Bailey’s modeling agency—but when the club went into foreclosure due to shady business dealings with the landlord (according to Peter Thomas) the modeling agency was also foreclosed on. Still, she gave him money once again for another club, which is the basis of the current lawsuit.
