A Delaware crossing guard was arrested after students alleged she distributed marijuana and e-cigarettes to them.
Kiara Lee was taken to jail on the night of June 4, 6 ABC reports.
Penn Wood Middle School students reported the crossing guard in Darby County, Pennsylvania. In a local news broadcast, Lee appears to be a little person.
The middle-schoolers allege the 26-year-old would smoke weed with them. Additionally, the crossing guard allegedly texted a student about eating marijuana edibles and their experiences with it.
Chief Joseph Gabe stated that “marijuana may not seem like a big deal to some folks in the community…” but “…we can all agree that crossing guards should not be providing narcotics..” He continued, ….even if it is ‘just’ marijuana – to our kids.”
As of this week, Kiara has been charged with marijuana possession with the intent to deliver. Furthermore, she faces a charge of corruption of minors.
The police are asking the community to contact the police department if they are concerned about their child’s interactions with the crossing guard.
