Rapper Cordae has revealed the name of his newborn daughter, whom he recently welcomed with his girlfriend Naomi Osaka last week.
According to PEOPLE, Cordae revealed his baby girl’s name while performing at Canada’s Calgary Stampede last weekend. During his performance, the rapper spoke directly to his fans, explaining that they are a part of his family.
“…I love y’all forever for that. Y’all are a part of my family…”
Additionally, he explained that his “daughter” was “just born a couple of days ago” and shared her name.
“And speaking of family, my daughter Shai was just born a couple of days ago…”
The crowd then erupted with cheer as the rapper stepped back, appearing to take in the moment and applause. He then continued by dedicating his next performance to his “baby girl.”
“So I want to dedicate this performance to my baby girl. I love you — I’m going back home.”
As of Wednesday, Naomi Osaka has not publicly announced or addressed their baby girl’s birth. Additionally, it remains unclear what day the tennis star gave birth.
However, it has been reported that Osaka gave birth in Los Angeles, as per The Shade Room. This information was initially revealed by a “source close to the couple” with PEOPLE.
In June, Osaka shared photos from the couple’s baby shower, where she initially revealed that they were preparing to welcome a “little princess,” as The Shade Room previously reported.
At the time, Osaka shared a series of photos on her Instagram where she posed in front of a sign.
“A little princess is on the way”
Additionally, Cordae reposted Osaka’s photos to his Instagram Story with a brief caption showing his excitement.
“#GirlDad”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Osaka revealed her pregnancy to the world in January.
