Mike Epps could be facing criminal charges after authorities allegedly found a loaded gun in one of his bags at the airport on Sunday, as reported by TMZ.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the 52-year-old actor was at Indianapolis Airport on Sunday. Authorities reportedly responded to a firearms investigation at the scene. They were informed that TSA allegedly found a gun in one of Epps’ bags.
The discovery was reportedly made while the actor was “going through the checkpoint.”
According to legal documents obtained by the outlet, the 52-year-old was reportedly in Indianapolis, Indiana for a show. This is exemplified by two recent posts on Epp’s official Instagram account.
The actor allegedly forgot the gun was in his bag when arriving at the airport.
Additionally, authorities reportedly found a “.38 Special Airweight with 4 rounds loaded, but none in the chamber.” The weapon and ammunition have since been taken as evidence in the investigation.
Furthermore, officials at the Indianapolis Airport told TMZ that Mike Epps was not arrested when the discovery was made on Sunday. However, the report has been “forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if charges should be filed.”
The outlet adds that they have reached out to Mike Epps for comment, but have not yet received a response.
Despite the impending investigation, Epps appears to be focused on his upcoming acting projects. He took to Instagram Monday evening to share a trailer for his upcoming Amazon series, I Am A Virgo, which he says is going to “really rock” viewers’ worlds.
