Comedian Corey Holcomb Voices His Opinion On Plus Size Women In Radio Interview—“When Big Girls Cough, They Run Men Away”

It’s true that comedy is subjective and that what one person may find funny, another may not, however, comedy shouldn’t always be at the expense of others. Comedian Corey Holcomb apparently doesn’t seem to care about this, as his recent comments regarding plus size women have sparked quite the debate (and also backlash) on social media.

During a recent interview on Chicago’s WGCI radio, regional comedian Corey Holcomb stopped by for a chat and somehow the conversation ended up shifting to what is considered desirable for women—and in his opinion, plus size women are not on the list.

Corey had this to say about why (in his opinion) no man wants a plus size woman:

“Who you are is the answer to all your problems. I hate when girls who are, you know,300 pounds, be talking bout ‘men be this…’ I’m like have you seen you? Men gone always do you like that because you ain’t on your game. If you get on your game, you might be able to…really, an attractive woman and even really got to work.”

Then the female co-host of the show brought up Lizzo as an example of a plus size woman being attractive, although she gave her a backhanded compliment and said, “her face was pretty.” Corey then added this:

“You think Lizzo is attractive. Lizzo coming out the bathroom in the morning coughing is gone run any man away. When big girls cough, they run men away. It ain’t they fault, it’s just if you big and you cough…”

It’s important to note that while he was saying all of this, none of the people in the room attempted to let him know that his comments were offensive. Instead, they were all laughing hysterically.

However, the backlash was immediate. WGCI turned the comments off on YouTube of the video and deleted many of the comments of the video on Instagram as well.

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
