Colin Kaepernick Will Have A Private Workout For NFL Teams This Weekend

Could Colin Kapernick’s NFL comeback be coming sooner than later? Reports are saying that Colin will hold a workout for teams in Atlanta this weekend.

Reporters Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport tweeted that all teams are invited to attend, and video of the workout will be distributed to the teams as well, CBS Sports reports.

“Several clubs inquired as to Kaepernick’s football readiness and both him and his reps have frequently expressed his desire for him to return to the league,” Rapoport said in his tweet. “The NFL has arranged this opportunity for him to work out, and for all clubs to have the opportunity to evaluate him.”

Kaep has not played in the NFL since the 2016 season. He opted out of his contract following his season with the 49ers, and following the controversy from his national anthem protest, he was unable to find an NFL job.

Kaepernick has since sued and settled with the league in a collusion case. He has maintained his commitment to the cause while also expressing his public desire to return to the NFL.

He has not specifically indicated which teams he is interested in, but the point of this workout will give him a fighting chance to get back to the NFL.

“NFL clubs were informed today that a private workout will be held for Colin Kaepernick on Saturday in Atlanta.  Session will include on-field work and an interview. All clubs are invited to attend, and video of both the workout and interview will be made available to clubs,” Schefter tweeted.
