Usher is reflecting on his viral Super Bowl performance with Alicia Keys while sharing the conversation he and her husband, Swizz Beatz, had afterward.
On Monday, February 19, ‘The Breakfast Club’ posted an exclusive interview with the singer via YouTube. About nineteen minutes into the conversation, Charlamagne Tha God delved into “unhinged moments” from the singer’s previous performances.
The conversation started off with Usher speaking on his 2014 viral VMA performance with Nicki Minaj. However, he also shared his take on his recent Super Bowl halftime performance with Alicia Keys.
Additionally, the singer appeared to address social media users who believed he was too affectionate with his married collaborator.
“In no way was anything that was done there should have been viewed as bad or in any way perverted,” he explained. “No, it was literally about having fun because of a song me and Alicia made many years ago. And we celebrated because of the legacy of it. And no disrespect to anybody or anything like that.”
From there, Usher explained that he and Swizz “absolutely laughed” about the social media opinions and memes during a conversation afterward.

Social media users entered The Shade Room’s comment section to weigh in on the singer’s sentiments.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Swizz Beatz addressed his wife’s viral performance with Usher earlier this month. At the time, he showed no concern with the pair’s performance and instead got on social media users not acknowledging other aspects about the show.
“Y’all talking about the wrong d**n thing!! Y’all don’t see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium. Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing, with two amazing Giants! Congrats @ Usher and my love @ aliciakeys that song is a classic,” Swizz shared via post on Instagram.
Most recently, Alicia Keys opened up about how her and Swizz keep their marriage strong amid the test of time.
