More details regarding Mystikal‘s rape charges have emerged this week, with the victim now claiming the rapper forced her to pray with him in an effort to tide her body of any “bad spirits,” before raping her.
AllHipHop reports that the unidentified woman, who is accusing the Baton Rouge-native of raping her in his Prairieville home back on July 30, reportedly because he believed she stole $100 from him.
The rapper became enraged over the missing money, and allegedly held the woman down and raped her in a fit of rage, and also while reportedly high on drugs too.
Authorities say he also beat the woman up, pulling out her braids from her hair and taking her cell phone and keys, all while preventing her from leaving his house.
The victim told police how Mystikal threw rubbing alcohol on her before forcing her to pray with him, allegedly to remove “bad spirits” from her body, before eventually raping her.
The woman was able to eventually escape from the house, and was taken to Baton Rouge General Hospital where she was treated for multiple injuries, according to the outlet.
A day later on July 31st, Mystikal, who’s real name is Michael Tyler, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery by way of strangulation, simple robbery and simple criminal damage to property.
He was also indicted on separate charges of drug possession after cops found heroin, Xanax and methamphetamines in his home, AllHipHop.com reports.
Mystikal has since pleaded not guilty to all of the charges, with his attorney calling the allegations “bogus,” adding that the rapper was being extorted because of his criminal record, which dates back about two decades.
In 2003, he began a six-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to sexual battery, the outlet reports.
He spent another two years in jail after another woman accused him or raping her at a casino in 2017, however that case was ultimately dismissed.
The rapper says this latest accuser allegedly went to ask him for $1,000, and threatened to accuse him of rape if he didn’t fork over the cash.
Mystikal is now facing a mandatory life sentence if convicted of the rape charge. He’s currently being held without bond at the Ascension Parish Jail in his native Louisiana.
The former No Limit Records artist last full-length project was “Tarantula” back in 2001, which was his fifth studio album following his debut: “Mind of Mystikal” in 1995, “Unpredictable” in 1997, “Ghetto Fabulous” in 1998, and 2000’s “Let’s Get Ready,” his highest performing record to date, per HipHopDX.com.
He was recently scheduled to perform alongside Trick Daddy, Master P, Silkk the Shocker and others on the No Limit Reunion Tour this month, which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the notorious Southern rap label.
