Ciara and Russell Wilson definitely know how to level up together. On Tuesday, they announced that they are now one of the 11 families that have joined the Seattle Sounders FC ownership group.
For the first time in its 45-year-history, the soccer organization announced the 11 new families that are now a part of the ownership. Now we know the Wilson’s to be a football family, but they are now welcoming the sport of soccer into their lives.
Ciara took to social media to express her excitement and said, “A Day I’ll Always Cherish! @DangeRussWilson and I are fired up to announce we are Team Owners of the Seattle @SoundersFC one of the best soccer franchises in the world! We can’t wait for our kids to grow up loving Soccer! Family is everything! Football and Futbol is Family! #SoundersIsFamily.”
The Wilson’s aren’t the only familiar faces to join the ownership group.
Rapper, Macklemore, who is a Seattle native, and his wife Tricia Davis were also among the new owners announced. Other new owners to join the ownership group include families that were involved with Microsoft’s past and present.
Sounders FC Majority Owner Adrian Hanauer said in a statement, “Today we begin another chapter in the story of Seattle Sounders FC, this proud club that means so much to so many people. We are doubling down on this community and growing our local roots even deeper. Sounders FC was born right here in Seattle, and for more than 40 years, the club has forged a meaningful legacy that is deep and far-reaching. Today’s news is a testament to what our community has accomplished, as 11 new families have joined with the broader Sounders family as fans and invested stewards of our club.”
