John & Chrissy Began Their Surrogacy Journey In 2021
The exciting news came on Wednesday via Instagram.
While John shared the newborn’s name (Wren Alexander Stephens) alongside some photos, Chrissy opted for a much more personal post.
Chrissy Teigen acknowledged that she has “always wanted four children.” However, after losing their son Jack in 2020, she and John “reached out to a surrogacy agency,” as Chrissy was unsure if she’d “be able to carry any more babies on [her] own.”
“In 2021, we reached out to a surrogacy agency, with our first correspondence inquiring about perhaps having 2 tandem surrogates, to each bring us a healthy baby boy or girl. Twins, kinda?!”
Ultimately, though, Chrissy Teigen wanted to “try to carry just one more time,” which successfully resulted in her welcoming Esti.
Still, she and John connected with a surrogate, Alexandra, who was “a perfect match” for the family. Eventually, while carrying Esti, she learned that Alexandra had become pregnant with their “little boy.”
“As we crept toward the safe zone of my own pregnancy, we were overjoyed to learn Alexandra had become pregnant with a little boy. Our boy.”
Chrissy Teigen Says Her Two Infants’ “Angel Kisses” Are From Jack
Teigen continued to discuss the experience in her upload, noting that her and Alexandra’s families ultimately “blend[ed] into one over the past year.”
Then, on Jun. 19, Chrissy and John met their baby boy—whom Alexandra delivered “with strength and pure joy and love.”
“Just minutes before midnight on June 19th, I got to witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, our surrogate, give birth amidst a bit of chaos, but with strength and pure joy and love.”
She went on to thank Alexandra, pointing out that—with Wren’s middle name being “Alexander”—he’s “forever connected” to her.
Warmly, her message wrapped by addressing Jack.
“Our hearts, and our home, are officially full. And to our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you.”
