Chipotle is under investigation again y’all. U.S. federal prosecutors have served the popular fast food chain with a subpoena last week after its most recent outbreak at a restaurant in Sterling, Virginia, where multiple customers complained of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. However, there’s a new twist to this story now.
According to reports, Chipotle says a sick employee is responsible for the recent outbreak. “We believe someone was working while sick,” CEO Steve Ells said of the outbreak, which included symptoms linked to the deadly contagious norovirus.
In addition, Chipotle has enforced new working standards that employee must adhere to. Ells said employees must undergo “comprehensive communication and training to ensure everyone working at Chipotle understands how to prevent another similar outbreak from occurring again.”
Chipotle can’t seem to catch a break with multiple outbreaks being reported this year which has caused the company to close restaurants and enforce strictier health protocols.
