Many people were suspecting that Rapper Chief Keef would be dropped from his label Interscope after he got into legal trouble in 2013 and checking into rehab (for marijuana) earlier this year. However, that hardly seems like the issue. Money talks, so at the end of the day if he was bringing in big money they would still work with him. Look at Meek Mill, he’s actually in jail and he’s not getting dropped anytime soon.
Reports surfaced a couple of days ago that he was dropped after signing to the label in 2012. Chief Keef confirmed these rumors and even posted a screenshot of a text message he sent his friend about the situation:
He also took to Twitter to imply that he wasn’t getting paid from his label. He says he’s releasing tracks off of his album and he’s going indie! You know, Indie Artists can make a lot of money these days if you play your cards right. However, we have to ask ….is the real problem Chief Keef? Does his music have enough substance to stand the test of time?
