Charlamagne Tha God was telling it all on the ‘gram early Friday morning. The radio show host strapped his petty boots and took to his account with a clarification aimed at Ye.
“I think in life you should always tell the whole story. There was some context missing from this story told on @drinkchamps so I decided to provide it,” Charlamagne wrote in his caption. “Sending healing energy to everyone who needs it this morning felt petty might delete later.”
He posted a snippet of his guest appearance on the podcast The Brilliant Idiots. In the video, he addressed a segment of Ye’s Drink Champs interview, where the rapper expressed confusion about Charlamagne’s previous comments about Pete Davidson‘s penis size.
“Charlamagne, he gon’ go on air and be like, imma paraphrase it, Kim is with Pete because he got a bigger d**k,” Kanye West said on Drink Champs. “Why you talking ’bout another man’s d**k on camera?”
According to Charlamagne’s story, he argued with the rapper last November. Ye allegedly phoned Charlamagne to convince him to abandon loyalty to Pete Davidson, but the host didn’t have it.
“He’s basically trying to get me onboard to sh*t on someone he knows is my friend Pete Davidson,” Charlamagne said.
The radio host said Ye wanted help saving “the new Marilyn Monroe,” meaning Kim. Given the alleged time frame, the argument definitely went down after Kim and Pete shared their first kiss on Saturday Night Live while Kanye sat among the in-person audience. By the beginning of November, media outlets had reported at least two public outings between Kim and Pete that were giving more-than-friends energy.
Charlamagne said that during the heated phone call, he stood on his loyalty to Pete–doubling down on their friendship. This allegedly angered Ye, and he responded by dishing Pete’s bedroom business and questioning Charlamagne’s loyalty to the culture.
“Then, finally, he goes, ‘my wife is out here f**king a white boy with a 10-inch penis and you won’t help me, my wife is out here f**king a white boy with a 10-inch penis and you’re telling me that’s your friend? But you’re supposed to be culture? He’s screaming on the phone,” Charlamagne shared. “What am I supposed to do but laugh at that?”
And the host insists his on-camera rantings about Pete’s cucumber were sparked by Ye, despite the rapper acting clueless on Drink Champs.
“But the reason I keep bringing up Pete’s penis on the radio is because I know it f**ks with [Ye],” the host revealed. “Alright? And you said that to me. But he gets on the interview and acts like he don’t know where that came from. The motherf**ker is a master manipulator.”
Though this interaction happened in November, Ye had taken his grievances with Petey public by February. West verbally attacked Pete online, nicknaming him Skete, a d**khead, and Hilary Clinton’s ex-boyfriend, among other not-so-nice names. In mid-February, Charlamagne took to the airwaves to offer Ye advice and criticize people supporting his rantings. The host claimed Kim is happy with Pete because, after a lifetime of being wealthy, Pete is offering her something money cannot buy: normalcy.
“It’s driving [Ye] crazy that he has all the money and she’s not interested in none of that right now. Just be a good father to your kids and let the marriage go king,” Charlamagne said. “And we gotta stop d**kriding dysfunction too. If this was anybody else and not Kanye West and he wasn’t the rich, successful person, where we talk around wearing his shoes, y’all would have all types of slander for his lame activity right now, and for the way he won’t leave Kim alone right now. So knock it off.”
Still, Ye’s public call-outs of the comedian didn’t end in February. His slams continued, especially after Pete and Kim made their relationship Instagram official in March–one week after Kim was declared legally single. That same week Pete responded to the rapper’s disses in private messages that Pete later asked his writing partner Dave Sirus to expose on Instagram on his behalf.
In his appearance on The Brilliant Idiots, Charlamagne also sprinkled a lil’ humor into his storytime about Ye.
“When a man yells ‘my wife is out here f**king a white boy with a 10-inch penis and you won’t help me,’ what does that even mean? If she can’t handle the 10-inch d**k, I know that I can’t,” Charlamagne joked.
