Chance The Rapper used his platform to make a difference this winter. His goal? To help the homeless in his hometown of Chicago.
Last month he launched the “Warmest Winter” initiative alongside Detroit’s the Empowerment Plan, with the hopes of supplying 1,000 coats to the homeless.
The coats are special ones because they not only are for wearing, but also sleeping! The coats are waterproof and self-heating and can turn into sleeping bags. When they are not in use they can also be used as duffle bags.
The campaign has raised a little over the $100k goal bringing in $102,507 and sponsoring 1,025 coats!
They are still accepting donations until January 13th if you want to help the cause!
