Weeks after she was awarded a massive $4 million-dollar judgement against blogger Tasha K for defamation, Cardi B is now asking a federal judge to permanently stop Tasha from continuing to post “harmful and disgusting lies” about her via her YouTube channel and social media accounts.
@Billboard reports, in the new filing that was handed to the judge yesterday, Cardi asked the judge to impose a permanent injunction, which is a court ruling that will force Tasha to pull the defamatory claims from the Internet and ban her from ever reposting them.
Via a statement through her attorneys, Cardi’s injunction request states that “Plaintiff filed this action because defendants refused to stop targeting her with harmful and disgusting lies. Damages alone are inadequate to address the constant ongoing threat of defendants repeating the defamatory statements [and] defendants have explicitly said that they will continue publishing the defamatory statements unless an injunction is issued.”
Additionally, the court filing points to statements Tasha made in videos and during their defamation trial that she would not permanently remove the videos speaking about Cardi unless she was forced to do so by a judge.
Elsewhere in the filing, Cardi’s attorneys further stated that Tasha doesn’t have a constitutional right to “false and defamatory speech.” They are hoping that if the injunction is granted, both the false statements made during the case about Cardi and all future speech regarding her is legally prohibited.
As we previously reported, Tasha K claims that she is unable to pay Cardi B the $4 million she now owes her.
