Can We Expect To See More Black Men On The Bachelorette? Rachel Lindsay Spills The Tea

31-year-old Rachel Lindsay is making history as ABC’s first Black Bachelorette in 15 years and 33 seasons and we are here for it.  She is also making history as an older, and possibly most successful bachelorette in terms of her high-powered daily job of an attorney.

We caught up with her at Floyd Mayweather’s lavish 40th birthday bash, and she spilled some tea on the types of men we can expect to see on her season.

“I don’t know who’s coming out of the limo,” she said.  “I’ve told them the people I’ve dated before–I haven’t just dated black men, but mostly black men, so I’m hoping to see a majority of that.” Same, sis, same.

“I would like for the show to be reflective of America you know, so I’m happy to be in this role so hopefully the men will be more reflective of that, so we’ll see.”

Rachel also admits that she doesn’t mind being called the “First Black Bachelorette” and not just “the next Bachelorette” because it is something new.

“I don’t mind being called the first because it’s new right? So I’m happy to represent myself as a black woman, that does not bother me,” she said. “But I don’t want it to be something that we fixate on the entire season–like we get it, I’m black, I’m here now, so can we just focus on my journey for love?”

Will you be tuning in to Rachel’s season, Roommates?
