Rapper and host Cam’ron is opening up about shooting his shot at Nia Long following her split from her fiancé, Ime Udoka. As The Shade Room previously reported, Long and Udoka went their separate ways in December 2022 after almost 13 years together.
At the time, Udoka, who is an NBA coach, made headlines for cheating on Long with a female colleague.
The latest episode of the sports talk show ‘It Is What It Is’ was published via YouTube on Tuesday, December 5. During the episode, hosts Cam’ron and Mase discussed a recent altercation between NBA player Lebron James and coach Udoka.
As their conversation unfolded, Cam’ron revealed that he messaged the actress on Instagram following her split from Udoka.
“I DM’d Nia after the whole s**t happened, man,” Cam’ron told viewers.
The Dipset member handed his phone to the show’s moderator, Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson. Wilson then read Cam’ron’s attempt to swoon the actress.

After the episode went live, Cam’ron took to Instagram to share screenshots of his message to Long. Additionally, he shared a caption with his post.
“She still hasn’t open my DM 😥”
We must note that Cam’ron first publicized his message to Long with screenshots shared via Instagram on October 16, 2022.
Social media users quickly entered The Shade Room’s comment section to share their reactions to Cam’ron’s game.
“To start off ‘hey stink’ shooting your shot as a grown man is wild lol”
“‘As I sit here sipping Gazpacho & watching The Best Man’ I’m cryin😂😂😂😂”
“‘red heart, purple heart, red heart, purple heart’ is SENDING ME 😂”
“She definitely called her best friend and said, ‘girl, I can’t make this s**t up…’. 😂😂”
Instagram user @justinblu_, however, shot Cam some bail.
“Aside from the ‘Hey Stink’, y’all gotta admit that Cam did his thing out this one 😂. Had to remind us that he’s a writer lol”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Long and Udoka began dating in 2010 and became engaged in 2015. In October 2022, the identity of Udoka’s alleged mistress was revealed to be a woman named Kathleen Nimmo Lynch.
In December of that year, PEOPLE reported that the pair’s split was confirmed by an exclusive source, per The Shade Room.
“The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the community during this difficult time means so much to me. I ask that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children,” Long exclusively told the outlet.
In January, Long went viral after briefly holding hands with singer Omarion on a red carpet.
Then, later that month, Long revealed that she has her “eye on one person.” However, she’s “never telling” who it is.
