Caitlyn Jenner was one of the first notable celebrities to speak on the death of O.J. Simpson. The family of the former NFL player confirmed he passed away this week in a statement released on Thursday.
Jenner was anything but sympathetic about the news in her initial response. Now, after receiving backlash, she seems to be doubling down on labeling O.J.’s death “good riddance.”

Here’s What Else Caitlyn Jenner Said About Simpson
As mentioned, Caitlyn made her “good riddance” comment via X on Thursday. It had been less than two hours since his family confirmed he passed from prostate cancer, a diagnosis first shared by Local 10 Las Vegas in February of this year.
Caitlyn’s X post about O.J. quickly went viral on the platform and other social sites. Plenty of the reactions pointed out that, like O.J., Caitlyn has been accused of taking a life.
For context, Caitlyn was involved in a multiple-vehicle car crash in 2015. She rear-ended a Lexus, causing it to swerve into oncoming traffic and slam into a Hummer carrying a family inside. The driver of the Lexus passed away on the scene. And in 2018, she settled a lawsuit with the family inside the Hummer, paying out $800,000 to five family members.
Caitlyn addressed that incident in her response to the backlash over the initial Simpson post.
“I know you all think it’s cute to compare a fatal car accident (with multiple vehicles involved) to a BRUTAL MURDER…but remember…OJ said something to the effect of…I could kill her (Nicole) and get away with it bc I’m #OJSimpson”
What Is Caitlyn Referring To?
This isn’t the first time Caitlyn has alleged that Simpson threatened to kill his second wife, Nicole Brown Smith before her murder in 1994.
During a 2021 appearance on Australia’s ‘Big Brother VIP,’ Jenner alleged that Nicole told Kris O.J. would “kill her and get away with it.”
“Obviously he did it and he got away with it, and at one point he even told Nicole, ‘I’ll kill you and get away with it because I’m O.J. Simpson,'” Caitlyn said on the show. “Then Nicole, you know, relayed that onto Kris at one point, and unfortunately, she was right.”
She didn’t specify when Nicole told Kris this information. However, Caitlyn said that after O.J. was acquitted, the first thing Kris told her inside the courthouse was, “We should have listened to Nicole. She was right right from the beginning.”
