As many of you know, last Sunday Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey aired, and the interview allowed viewers the opportunity to hear from the couple as they spoke about what they have been going through as members of the Royal Family.
There were many things revealed that shocked people, one of those things being that Meghan Markle alleged that someone within the family expressed their concern about how dark her son Archie’s skin would be prior to his birth. Like Oprah, many viewers were shocked to hear that come from Meghan. However, both Meghan and Harry have decided not to reveal which family member had that concern.
As we previously reported, Harry did make it known that it wasn’t his grandmother nor grandfather that expressed concern about his son’s skin color.
Buckingham Palace has been silent since the interview’s debut. However, on Tuesday, they released a statement on behalf of the Queen, which read, “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah came not too long after it was revealed that they would not be returning as working members of the Royal Family. Prior to that decision, last year it was announced they were taking a step back, as they worked “to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
Other topics that were discussed during Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah included Harry’s current relationship with his family since stepping back, Meghan shared her past thoughts of suicide, and the couple also revealed that they are expecting a baby girl.
