BREAKING: Young Slime Life Defendant Shannon Stillwell Rushed To Hospital After Being Stabbed

One defendant in the Young Slime Life (YSL) trials is currently in the hospital. According to reports by CNN and WSB-TV, Shannon Stillwell was stabbed in Fulton County jail in Atlanta, Georgia.

The incident happened overnight, per Natalie Ammons of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department. In a news release on Monday night, the department revealed that another intimate named Willie Brown had stabbed Stillwell several times.

According to 11Alive, Brown and Stillwell are housed in the same jail zone. The stabbing occurred during a fight between the two men. It’s unclear what Brown used to harm Stillwell or what led to the fight.

Why Is Shannon Stillwell On Trial?

WSB-TV reports that Stillwell is facing eight counts in the case. This includes RICO and gun charges, two murder charges, and participation in a criminal street gang.

His attorney, Max Schardt, spoke on the stabbing in a brief statement, per CNN.

“I’m obviously very concerned about my client, and I’m gathering information at this time,” Schardt said.

Meanwhile, in court on Monday (Dec. 11), Judge Ural Glanville recessed the court for the remainder of the day due to Stillwell’s stabbing. The judge called the incident “a medical issue.”

On Tuesday, Judge Glanville pushed back trial proceedings until after the holidays amid an investigation into the stabbing. All the jurors were dismissed. The trial will resume on Jan. 2, 2024, per 11Alive.

Shannon Stillwell Stabbing Comes Nearly Two Weeks After Start Of Trial

As The Shade Room previously reported, the YSL RICO trial involving Young Thug and other defendants, like Shannon Stillwell, began days after Thanksgiving. That progress in the case comes after Thugger spent more than a year in Fulton County Jail awaiting trial. Jury selection took about ten months.

Police arrested the Atlanta-based rapper in May 2022 on racketeering and conspiracy charges. Cops initially arrested 27 defendants alongside Thug, but several defendants have since taken plea deals. That list includes rapper Gunna and Thugger’s brother Unfoonk.

There are now six defendants remaining, including Thug and Shannon Stillwell.

Before Monday, day three of the trial proceedings sparked debates about a mistrial after the livestream exposed jurors’ faces.
