Well, the Blac Chyna vs. Kardashian-Jenner trial is officially a wrap. And despite Chyna’s goal to show her children King and Dream “what’s right is right, what’s wrong is wrong,” the jury didn’t rule on her side. According to TMZ, Blac Chyna lost her $100 million lawsuit against Kris and Kylie Jenner and Khloe and Kim Kardashian on Monday.
The Kardashian-Jenner family swept Chyna after the jury unanimously voted in their favor after hours of deliberations. Blac Chyna was not awarded any damages. As previously reported, Chyna sued the family on claims that they defamed her with allegations of abuse and interfered with her E! contract for the show Rob & Chyna alongside ex-fianceé Robert Kardashian.
Their show ran for one season in 2016. In the end, E! executives, including Ryan Seacrest through virtual testimony, declared that the show ended because the couple’s relationship ended and not because of words spoken or actions taken by the Kardashian-Jenner fam, per AP.
The Kardashian-Jenner family was not present in court when their victory was read, but Chyna was there. Instead, the family was in New York City preparing for one of fashion’s biggest nights The Met Gala.
Chyna’s losing verdict comes after the Kardashian-Jenner family filed a motion via their attorney to dismiss Chyna’s defamation lawsuit last week. Another major development in the trial was when the judge denied Chyna’s request to testify on the stand for a second time. Her first testimony ended in tears after discussing the revenge porn incident executed by Rob.
Along with his mother, her boyfriend Corey Gamble and sisters Kim, Kylie and Khloe, Robert also took the stand. Much of the trial focused on the ex-couple’s interactions on December 14, 2016. During his testimony, Robert claimed that Blac Chyna “pulled a gun on him twice, hit him with a metal rod, scratched him and struck him with an iPhone cord.”
“She ripped my shirt early in the evening and we were throwing money around in our Snapchat,” Robert Kardashian said. “In the beginning I thought it was playful. I didn’t think it got serious until the second gun encounter … you don’t point a gun on your fiancé’s head whether you think it’s loaded or not.”
Rob’s words were a response to Chyna’s previous testimony where she claimed the gun to his head was a joke and unloaded. She also said putting the iPhone cord around his neck was an attempt to get his attention while he played video games.
Kim Kardashian was initially part of the lawsuit, even testifying at one point during the days long trial. However, the presiding judge dropped the beauty entrepreneur from the suit at the end of last week amid deliberations. Per legal documents, the family’s attorney made the request to remove Kim.
Their argument stated that Blac Chyna “has neither identified an allegedly defamatory statement by Kim Kardashian nor specified an instance where she ratified an allegedly defamatory statement by another party.” Apparently, the judge agreed and ruled that evidence did not demonstrate that Kim “took a ‘responsible part’ in the publication of the alleged statement by the other defendants.”
As of Monday evening, Blac Chyna and the involved Kardashian-Jenner family members were silent about the verdict on social media.
