#Roommates, it’s been almost a decade since Brandy blessed her fans with a new album, but the wait is almost over. To get her fans excited for what’s to come, Brandy just revealed the cover for her upcoming seventh full-length album, “b7.”
After dropping her brand new single “Baby Mama” featuring Chance The Rapper, Brandy is keeping the promotion train going for highly-anticipated new album by releasing the visuals for its cover. The up close shot features Brandy paying homage to her idol Whitney Houston with a headdress inspired by one similar to what Whitney wore in her 1992 film debut, “The Bodyguard.”
“b7” is Brandy’s first album since her 2012 project, “Two Eleven”—released shortly after Whitney Houston’s death. During an interview on the “Laura Coates Show,” Brandy explained the work she put into her new project:
“I’ve dedicated the last couple years of my life to my new music, my new project. It’s taken me a while, but I’m so happy about the focus and the work ethic that I’ve put into this project. I’m really proud of it and I finally feel ready to present it to the world.”
To officially kick off Mother’s Day, she appeared on “Good Morning America” for an at-home performance of “Baby Mama”—complete with choreographed moves on her staircase and in her foyer, as she was joined by her dancers from remote locations. The video for the song dropped earlier this week, directed by Derek Blanks and creative directed by Frank Gatson.
Brandy’s “b7” is due out on July 31st.
