It’s another day, and another boycott is starting to trend on social media. This time, people are calling to boycott against Walmart, after the company announced that they would be pulling violent video displays in their stores. However, they still plan to sell these video games, as well as guns.
According to CNN, the new policy comes in the wake of the recent mass shootings. However, the new policy reportedly does not apply to the sale of firearms.
Tara House, a spokesperson for Walmart said, “We’ve taken this action out of respect for the incidents of the past week, and this action does not reflect a long-term change in our video game assortment.”
Walmart will also stop the display of violent films and shows in its electronic section of the store. It will also stop the display of hunting videos in the sporting good sections.
A memo was reportedly issued to employees about the new changes after the CEO promised “thoughtful and deliberate” response following the recent shootings.
Doug McMillon, the CEO of Walmart said, “We will work to understand the many important issues that arise from El Paso and Southaven, as well as those that have been raised in the broader national discussion around gun violence.”
However, Walmart’s decision is not sitting too well with people, as they are calling for the major retailer to stop selling guns altogether.

What a shame that Wal-Mart couldn't serve their community with courage after such a tragedy. Let their bottom line get hit and maybe they will change their tune. Flood them with your demands. #BoycottWalmart
