Blueface‘s dad, Johnathan Porter Sr., has shared the outcome of his son’s sentencing hearing which occurred on Friday, August 9. Additionally, the rapper’s mother, Karlissa Saffold Harvey, has shared her reaction.
On Friday, Johnathan Porter Sr. returned to his Instagram Story to share an update on Blueface’s fate. The rapper’s father appeared to be seated in his car as he spoke to fans.
“Good afternoon, y’all,” Porter said, wiping his face. “Y’all could probably tell by the way I look… they gave him four years.”
Furthermore, Porter Sr. ended his message with, “Stay Strong.”
Meanwhile, Blueface’s mother, Karlissa Saffold Harvey, has reacted to her son’s sentencing via a video shared on her Instagram Story.
“I want to get on here and thank everybody for all the love and all the support today — all the prayers. I seen all the prayers and I thank y’all so much,” she said. “I don’t want y’all to think that God didn’t show up today because he did… If you was in the courtroom you heard Johnathan take accountability… [and] Johnathan sound like Johnathan — he’s in his right frame of mind.”
Harvey ultimately explained that her family and the rapper’s fans “didn’t get the verdict” they wanted. However, they get “closure” and “new beginnings.”
“And we’re all hopeful for this to go by smooth and quickly,” she said.
Meanwhile, social media users have reacted to the update on Blueface in The Shade Room’s comment section.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Blueface turned himself in to Los Angeles authorities for reportedly violating the terms of his probation in January.
Afterward, TMZ reported that Blue violated “one or more of the terms of his probation” from a September 2021 assault case originating in the city. Then, to make matters worse, in February, the Daily Mail reported that a Las Vegas judge issued an arrest warrant for the rapper.
That warrant was reportedly issued due to Blue’s arrest violating his probation terms reportedly stemming from a 2022 Las Vegas shooting case, per The Shade Room.
At the time, the Las Vegas judge ordered Blueface to him self into authorities there following the close of his release from Los Angeles authorities. However, in July, Blueface appeared in front of the Las Vegas judge via phone, per The Shade Room. The Las Vegas judge reportedly sentenced him to three years of probation with a 2-5 year suspended prison term.
Meanwhile, Blueface’s sentencing on Friday, August 9, marks the rapper receiving his jurisdiction for his Los Angeles probation violation.
